Tour Down Under Coming to Adelaide

The tour down under is once again coming to Adelaide on the 16th January until the 23rd January 2011.

It is a great time to see the city of Adelaide in all its glory.

The Tour Down Under has been popular to many cycling fans and tourists since its first Tour in 1999 and Adelaide now hosts a spectacular festival of cycling gathering all the spectators and fans’ involvement in the big event. Cycling fans get the chance to ride part of the big race with the pros in the Mutual Community Challenge Tour because of the Skoda Breakaway series.

Kicking off the cycling year in exhilarating style, the Santos Tour Down Under is absolutely a sprinter’s stage race. It brings the top World Tour pro cycling teams to compete on Adelaide streets and regional South Australia every January. In addition to that, the Santos Tour Down Under attracts the whole state to take part, taking the race through South Australian regions. It usually starts and concludes with thrilling Adelaide city street circuits and provides an important contribution to the state’s tourism industry.

The Santos Tour Down Under boasts the attractions of South Australia to the whole world as the event is covered by the global television. The competition is owned and managed by a division of the South Australian Tourism Commission on behalf of the Government which is the Events South Australia.
