The Adelaide Central Gallery holds 10 exhibitions a year highlighting the best contemporary artists from South Australia and interstate. The gallery is located within Adelaide Central School of Art. Details of shows and of the Gallery Stockroom can be accessed on their website and in the monthly newsletter Artdate.
Adelaide Zoo is located in shady parklands just a few minutes' walk from Adelaide's city centre and is one of Australia's most historic and interesting zoos. Offering much more than a traditional children's outing, Adelaide Zoo is fascinating, beautiful and full of interest. The zoo is the place for everybody to learn about the world's rare and endangered mammals, birds, reptiles and fish, and to take a closer look at some of Australia's own native animals. The zoo is beautifully landscaped with habitat exhibits, walk-through aviaries full of trees, and a superb reptile house. Most animals are exhibited in natural settings, which can magically transport the visitor from a Queensland rainforest to a northern swamp and a moment later to a South East Asian Rainforest. The experience is unforgettable.
